AI dynamic reassignment is on the roadmap. It will watch availability events and auto-suggest a backup provider when a session is about to be orphaned, ask the patient for consent, and execute the move when they confirm. It is not live yet.

Your most popular doctor is "fully booked" by 9am. A walk-in patient asks for an earlier slot, reception says no, the patient calls a competitor. Meanwhile a trained colleague has empty slots delivering the same service. AI dynamic reassignment is the engine that will watch your calendar all day, find flexible bookings, ask the patient if it is OK to move them to a different provider, and free senior-doctor capacity for the demand that only the senior can serve. On an aesthetic floor, freeing 2 senior-injector slots per day is AED 4,000 to AED 8,000 of incremental revenue per day. This page explains how the engine will decide, how patient consent will work, and which guardrails will keep it from becoming annoying.

Status: Coming soon. The flexibility flag and provider-equivalence map are designed now so you can opt patients in early; the auto-move engine ships in a later release.

Where it lives#

Settings → Booking → Intelligent scheduling: enable the engine, set policy controls, pick which services and which branches are in scope.
Operations → Booking → Daily flex panel: the side panel that lists today's flexible bookings, proposed moves, and patient replies in real time.
Patient profile → Preferences: per-patient flexibility default (Any provider / This provider only / Multiple OK with notification).
Settings → Providers → Skill graph: the equivalence map that says who can substitute for whom on which service.

The problem this solves#

Reception sees one booking at a time. The system sees the whole calendar. Today's reality on an aesthetic floor:

Dr A is the brand-name injector. Her calendar fills 3 weeks ahead.
A patient calls at 9am: "Can I come today for filler touch-up?"
Reception checks Dr A: full. Reception says "next available is in 12 days".
Patient hangs up, books at the competitor next door.
At the same moment, Dr B (2 years trained, same brand, AED 600 instead of AED 800) has 4 empty slots today.

Manual reshuffling does not scale: reception has no time to call existing patients and ask "can we move you to Dr B so we can fit a walk-in on Dr A?". The engine does exactly that, continuously, with consent.

How the engine works#

Identify flexible bookings. Any booking where the patient said "I am open to any provider with the same skill" is marked flexible at creation time. The engine only ever touches flexible bookings.
Watch for capacity pressure. A senior doctor is at 95% utilization. A walk-in or a waitlist request comes in for that doctor. The engine looks for a flexible booking on that doctor that could be reassigned.
Find a valid swap. Same service, equivalent provider available, same day, within the patient's stated time window.
